Nephi's 12 Descriptors of the the Land Bountiful

1. "Nearly eastward" of Nahom
2. Accessible from the interior deserts.
3. The surrounding general area may have been also fertile.
4. Bountiful was a sheltered coastal location.
5. "Bountiful" was a fertile area.
6. Timber was available to build a ship.
7. Year-round fresh water at the site.
8. A mountain nearby.
9. Substantial cliffs overlooking the ocean are suggested.
10. Ore, from which metal could be smelted to construct tools.
11. Little or no resident population at that time to contribute tools and manpower to the ship building process.
12. Access to the open ocean for a ship.
